Airtran

I am looking for April flights which are going to be in short supply to Orlando/Tampa, and want the cheapest fare. I see they are not yet listed. Any idea when they will be???

Unless you have a specific need to fly Airtran why not look at any other airline operating from your city?

It seems to me that just about all the major airlines offer the same deal as Airtran. I compared Chicago-Tampa in mid-March and mid April and there were many options at the same fare as Airtrans. $81 one-way, total of bout $204 all in. That's what Airtran is showing for the same exact dates in mid-March.

There is nothing particularly wrong with AirTran. They are very popular for flights up/down the East coast. I prefer the point to point non-stops over using the Atlanta hub, but even flying them through Atlanta is ok. On many routes they offer the best selection of flights.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with Airtran. I just said that just about all the airlines had the same fares as Airtran on Chicago-Tampa flights. Some flights were non-stop some with 1 connection. All Chicago-Tampa Airtran flights connected through Atlanta, so unless the OP has a specific need to fly Airtran or Airtran is the only airline from the OP's city, then she should at the very least look at other options.

I would suggest signing up to get the AirTran sale emails. AirTran seems to put flights on sale about once a month and those fares are usually good for the following couple of months. The sale usually only lasts for a few days, so track your emails and see if there is a pattern. (i.e. flights go on sale on the 5-9th of the month, etc) At least out of Atl, Delta joins in the sale price too... Have you tried looking at Farecast.com (I think that is Bing Travel now) or kayak.com?

The other airline fares currently are NOT cheap and Airtran does have one nonstop, that may be available to me. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
