Christina, thanks, initially I may have been confusing the issues but I since learned that there are no personal screens on the plane, per my last post. I am guessing that starrs’ plane with the in-arm system was probably a Dreamliner.

Download your films/shows from Netflix to your iPad before you leave home for your flight.

Another consideration is that quite often on long haul flights, some of the bulkhead seats are given to families traveling with babies. They sometimes have enough room for a small bassinet to be attached to the bulkhead - I have no idea if your aircraft will have that option, but it's something to be aware of if you don't want to be around a crying infant.

I agree with the suggestion above to get two aisle seats across from each other unless you really want the window/middle; I've stopped getting the bulkhead seats because I hate not having the underseat space.

We flew Emirate to Athens just in October; we had a window and aisle bulkhead in their "first" economy section which had about 8 rows. There was a convenient bathroom right behind the first economy section. There was tons of legroom in front of us. If anything, the seat was slightly narrower as the entertainment screen was in the armrest, but overall Emirate seat was far more comfortable than United, which we usually use within the States. I had tons of floor space for my large tote, headphones, kindle. However, Emirates Air has about 1,000 channels on their entertainment channels, all of which was free (movies, radio, podcast, etc.) so never used my Kindle. Behind this first small economy section was the main economy section, which bathroom was located at rear. I just didnt like not being able to clear the armrest next to me, we had an empty middle seat. It seems to me, rather than usual economy, bulkhead offers you ease to leave your seat, stand up, and store your carry-ons by far.

An airline seat is a seat on an airliner

Seatplans gives you comprehensive seat plans of all the major airlines, with details on the best seat on the plane and how much legroom you can expect in each class.
