Just to add to this post, the Boston Globe Travel Show is 23-25 March. The Africa Travel Association and CCAfrica are on the list of exhibitors. Didn't notice Wilderness Travel, but maybe the list will expand.

Actually, Wilderness Travel is not Wilderness Safaris, as I mistakenly implied. I checked the "seating arrangement" on the website, and Wilderness Travel is sitting with the Americans. But Africa Geographic and Africa Travel Association will be at the NY show.

Hari, the weather has returned to normal (except for snowfall, which remains substantially below normal -- I have seen a few flurries, but nothing sticks).
I'm excited about the Travel Show since it will allow me to research some areas other than Africa. I have firmed up my 2007 travel plans, and, unfortunately, I will not return to Africa this year (my second non-Africa year since 1999). My trips this year are:
February: Idaho and Oregon
April: Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao
May: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan (my passport is out now for visas, which is why I can't schedule an international trip until April)
July: Alaska
August: Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Guyana, French Guiana and Suriname
October: US Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands
November: the Channel Isles (off the French coast)
December: New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa (Western and American) and Cook Islands
Hopefully, I'll get back to Africa in 2008 (but I have already penciled in Greenland and Azerbaijan/Georgia/Armenia) -- too many interesting places to visit!
