Hotel at London's Heathrow?

The Hilton is only really convenient to Terminal 4 (mainly British Airways.) There are several hotels on Bath Road - Sheraton, Marriott, others.. that are all fine. They're served by the dreaded Hoppa Bus (£4 from Terminals 1,2,3, not 4).
We always use Priceline for LHR hotels, only at the 4 star (highest) level, and have never paid more than US$70 for a night, v. the £150+ rack rate (or web rates) quoted by the hotels or other agents. If you haven't used PL before, this is one of the best places to use it.

I am almost never a fan of Priceline, but LHR hotels is definitely an exception.
The Hilton at T4 is a very nice place and a cut above the other LHR hotels I've stayed at (Crowne Plaza & Sheraton Skyline), but it's location within the airport is not as convenient as you might think: from 1/2/3 you need to first take the train to T4, and then from all of the terminals it's a long walk down a dark and dank concrete hallway.

Friends of ours stayed at Harmondsworth Hall Hotel in Harmondsworth Village, which is supposedly a seven minute drive from Heathrow. Their website is www.harmondsworthhall.com and a double is 75 L w/breakfast. And British Air is offering a deal right now for Airport hotels that might get you a better price if you go to their site.

jusg got back from a most amazing trip to zambia (more soon) and overnighted in London. Don't know how long a layover you have, but taking the tube into London worked out wonderfully for us. Easy to get to, trains every ferw minutes, cheap, and it opens up a world of options if you have a bit of time.
