London Heathrow Hilton

Any recent reviews on the London Heathrow Hilton? We are flying into terminal 3 late at night and out of terminal 4 early the next morning and want convenience and don't want to have to get pounds for a taxi ride. How long would it take us to get from terminal 3 to Hilton? Thanks!

Hotel operates a free shuttle bus service. As for reviews - you don't really have much choice in the matter, airport hotels are airport hotels! It'll be comfortable enough, it's somewhere to sleep, view it as a convenience, not an experience.

We've stayed at the Heathrow Marriott a couple of times and it's a very nice hotel. It doesn't look like much from outside, but lobby, rooms and amenities are very nice. There is also a pub and a McDonalds within walking distance.

We got a great rate of $67 thru Priceline on our stay last week. Bid on a 4* at Heathrow and were very happy we got the Marriott. We had stayed there before and knew it was a nice hotel.

You can take the Hotel Hoppa bus service to the terminals for £3 per person. If you are going to Terminal 4, you have to get off at Terminal 1 and take the Heathrow Express (free) to T4.

Hi. This might help you decided if you really want to stay at the Hilton Heathrow. Check out the reviews of previous people who have stayed at this property:

styleoracle: We are doing the same as you, only in August for us. We arrive LHR Terminal 3 late in the evening following a daytime flight from ORD. Departing LHR Terminal 4 late the next morning. To get to the Heathrow Hilton we intend (assuming our flight is timely) to pass through customs (should be fairly fast for us as our flight is the last scheduled arrival of the day at LHR Terminal 3) and take the free Heathrow Express train from Terminals 1, 2 and 3 to Terminal 4. Once at Terminal 4, it is a short walk to the Heathrow Hilton. The train runs about every 15 minutes in that direction, with the last train departing Terminals 1, 2 and 3 for Terminal 4 at 1151 p.m., arriving at Terminal 4 four minutes later. For complete schedule details, go to Transport for London's JourneyPlanner website.

Meanwhile, tripadvisor.com does have some recent reviews on the Heathrow Hilton. Most seem to agree that it cannot be beat for convenience but most also agree that the place is terribly overpriced. We decided to bite the bullet and pay the price for the sake of convenience. However, even the prepaid, and nonrefundable, rate on Hilton's website came in at GBP 129, plus VAT. Ouch! At least we leave late enough the next morning that we intend to take advantage of the hotel's free (to guests) health club facilities.

Anyway, hope this information is of assistance to you. Bon voyage!

You are placing too much importance on choosing an airport hotel, you'll be there less than twelve hours, you've got it for silly money, you can't complain when you're paying so little. It'll be comfortable enough!

You're there for a maximum of twelve hours, you are paying the price of a bottle of average/lower top quality wine for the night in the second most expensive city in the world.

It's an international chain, it'll be uninspiring, plain, but somewhere comfortable to sleep, wash etcetera. I'm super-fussy with hotels, and do indeed ask lots of questions about them, but I'll be staying there for more than twelve hours and investing far more time (and money) in them.

Accept your hotel at an ultra cheap price and worry about the rest of your holiday not an unavoidable night at an airport.

Glad you got a good deal on Priceline. I think it's the best way to get the most out of your hotel $ - especially in London. It does have an element of risk, but for a one night stay I don't think you can go wrong.

Because of the difference in the hotel ratings from US standards, I would be very hesitant on bidding on anything less than a 4* in London. There are a lot of dodgy 3* hotels on London and you could very well get stuck with one when bidding on an unknown hotel.

Here's the link for the Hotel Hoppa: www.nationalexpress.com/p.cfm?n=pai-hhh.
