Video: Wild Dogs of Gol Mountain

http://www.go-safari.com/safari_YouTube.htm

Just click on "Watch Video". You can also see the map of the film's location.

It is a short series of 3 or 4 videos documenting the Wild Dogs of the Gol Mountain area in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area of Tanzania.

"Part 3 - The Hunt" is now on YouTube. Be warned. It is not easy to watch.

The other two videos will follow shortly.

Part 1 will focus on the glorious scenery and geography of the area.

Part 2 will show the dogs at play against a backdrop of very large breeding herds of Wildebeests.

Very cool stuff…from the dog’s point of view!

Curious about those very fluffy white tipped tails -- a seasonal stage or is this status quo for these particular dogs?

Are there more videos that just my eyes could not find?

Asante, Den

Great video, pleasure to see the dogs in the wide open space.

Den: vitually every wild dog will have a conspiquous white tip on the tail. It likely helps the dogs keep track of one another while in their team pursuit of prey as well as their long wanderings.

PredatorBiologist is right; it allows them to hunt when the sun has already set or even in full moon, just because they follow the white tips...

Asante Predator na Nikao.

How nice to have a built in torch as long as your not first in line!

Great video as long, as Den pointed out, you're not a wildebeest. Thanks for sharing this!
