Curious about MedJet.... is the appeal that they fly you home with no questions? Many insurance policies offer evacuation, including flying you home if needed. I assume it's that there is no question with MedJet about getting you home rather than somewhere else, and that's why people like this policy?

If you read the policies, a lot of them say they will evacuate you to the NEAREST hospital that can accommodate your problem. With Medjet YOU get to tell them where you want to be taken.

If you're in Africa and your home is in the States and you require evacuation, once stabilized locally, they will fly you to the States, your State/City. They're not going to drop you off in Europe somewhere to fend for yourself.

It's possible that a hospital in Africa might not be handle your specific/complicated medical care and will first send you to Europe, Israel, South Africa - eventually, once you can travel home, that's where you go.

While I haven't personally had experience with evacuation, from those people who have traveled to various destinations worldwide and needed this service, every one of them... flown back to the States/home city.

I have my new keyboard. Even with TravelGuard which uses MedJet and took us to Honk Kong hospital after surgery and recuperation once the doctors and mone back in the US said I could fly which was 8 days TravelGuard sent us back in Business Class which was acceptable with my personal physican. To send us back in a MedJet would have been overkill. My guess ids Medjet without TravelGuard might operate the same way.

I had a friend who was supposed to take David Duchemin's workshop in Tuscany. Let's just say the workshop didn't happen and will understand why after reading this http://blog.medjet.com/?p=2229 Certainly has made me a believer in medjet.
