Trafalgar Tours

Anyone have knowledge of Trafalgar Tours for ancient Egypt land and river tour? The itinerary seems to be the same basic tour as the rest of the tour companies. We are staying for two nites at the Meridien Pyramids Hotel on arrival and at the Ramses Hilton for two nites on the return after the river cruise for 7 nites. It is $1715.oo U.S.D land only.

Hi

I almost took the Trafalgar tour last year but I'm not their typical age demographic so I went with their sister ompany Contiki which caters to my age group. The tours are the same thing except the accomodations on the Trafalgar tour are of better quality.

I have also taken many other Trafalgar tours (Italy/Ireland/Germany/Austria) and have nothing but good comments about the company/tour/tour guides.

Trafalgar tours are more expensive (Contiki charges less for the same tours) then Contiki and they are generally aimed at a older audience.

I took a superior Contiki tour of Italy and was very impressed by the quality of the hotels and transportation.

Isn't it true that Contiki doesn't allow anyone over 35 on their tours?

The target audience is for 18-35 year olds. I don't know of anyone who was denied admittance on a tour b/c they were over that age group...but I would think they would be informed of Trafalgars tours which are for the older crowd...

So, did you eventually take the contiki tour?

I was advised by a friend to avoid contiki because they've been banned from the hotels in many cities due to excessive drunkenness and rowdiness of the tour groups.

Was that the case or was she exaggerating?
