Liz, I can't wait to hear about your trip upon your return. I leave for the Delta in late May! At first I was alarmed at the flood levels, so I am eager to hear from you regarding travel, game sightings, etc...
Have the best possible trip!

I too am running hot and cold for the floods. Will they be so high that they will be just full of hippos? If so I will be too afraid to mokoro. Or will it just be the most beautiful I have ever seen?
dlm will be telling us here in a day or two about her experience in Botswana. I wish it would be NOW.
Thanks for the kind words and I will try to get my pictures up so you can see ahead of time. Liz

Liz, thanks for the reply...I can't wait to read your trip report and view photos! Yes, I have to admit I'm afraid of hippos...there have just been to many tragic stories. If you feel safe in the mokoro, then I'll try to be brave! Part of my trip will be on horseback safari, so I hope there is enough dry land to 'horse around.' Time really IS relative...the days before a safari departure seem 48 hours each! Nancy

I know I asked my husband, "are you SURE its STILL Tuesday"? Endless days until I step out in J'burg, then it will seem like a day or two until we're back returning home.
I never really had the knowledge to be afrain of hippos until we were chased by one on our last trip to Botswana. I'm hoping I will go in the mokoro. We never did after that episode. I sure will try to talk myself into it. I hadn't heard of the problems until I started reading these boards. We'll see. Liz
