Santharamhari,

I think it's an excellent choice. Normally you see plenty of action that time of year.

Are you going to visit some other camps too?

In May I am giving an album to Kwando with some of my best shots made in December 2005 at Kwara/Lebala.

Greetings,

Johan

Hi Johan,

I sent my pics to Kwando already....i think, i'm just doing lagoon (3nights) and Lebala (4nights)....i think that's plenty of action........you think that's enough time to track down Cheetahs and wild dogs in the concession? I'm sure we'd see a fair share of lions.

Santharamhari,

Normally, you should see some good action. But like you know, the cheetah or wild dogs could be f.e. at Selinda just when you are there.

The good thing is that you are staying one week in a superb concession.
So I don't think you won't be disappointed that time of year at those camps. And you can always watch some ellies over there.

I am curious to see your pictures when I am at Lebala. I don't send my pictures by post anymore because it happened several times that they didn't reach the people for whom they were supposed to be.

Greetings,

Johan

Johan,

I sent the cds of the pics to the Maun office and had them send it to Jonah at Lagoon. He is an excellent photographer and very enthusiastic about his videos etc.,etc.,

We didnt see too much at Lebala on this trip, due to the rains....but we did see the cheetah mum and cubs at Lagoon twice.........i had some fantastic pics of lions from Kwara (some of the best pics, i have gotton so far). Who was your guide at Kwara? We had Ras and his tracker Justice....they were awesome. Although everybody there are good. Doctor, Joe, Mothusi...dont know who i'm missing....

We had Spencer at Lebala and i'm going to request for him again....oh, before i forget, i did see Serval, black mamaba and sitatunga in the space of 20 mins at Lebala........

Santharamhari,

You have been lucky to see sitatunga. Until now I've been seeing only one in Botswana (Jacana) and it was only briefly so I couldn't take a picture.

On almost every safari you got that magical moment when you see lots of everything in a short period of time.

You can see some of my pics taken at Lebala/Kwara in December 2005:
http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=...&y=-fpi4gu

At Lebala I had Steve as a guide and at Kwara it was Joe. I enjoyed them both but I think the general quality of the guides is very good at Kwando.

I can't wait to go back to Botswana ...

Greetings,

Johan

Michael,

I think the link to the Kodak website is no longer valid. I would love to see your pictures.

Michael,

Superb collection you got. I especially liked the following ones:

- pied kingfisher;
- two lilac breasted rollers;
- white fronted bee-eater;
- male lion killing a hyena.
- the dogs taking down an impala;
- hamerkops.

Thank you very much for sharing!!!

Greetings,

Johan

Michael,
Outstanding photo's!
Where did you go to see so many lions?
I went for a VERY quick trip last year. We stayed at Akeru Lodge in the Timbavati(?)in Kruger, and while we didnt see a lot of animals it was a brilliant place to stay.
Enjoyed Vic Falls, although the poverty was mind blowing, from there to Chobe which was also great.
Have fallen in love with what little we saw and cant wait to go back, oh to have copious amounts of money and time.

The best place in the world is always the last place I visited.

In April of last year my husband and I did something we never thought we could do. We took an entire month off work and went to Spanish language school in costa Rica.

This was a wonderful vacation for me because the daily schedule kept my mind off work. We went to school every morning and studied in the afternoon. We really did learn a lot of Spanish and it was kind of vacation without guilt.

Each of three week ends we visited a different part of costa Rica and I would take kids there in a minute. There are animals, beeches, jungles, eeverything you could imagine and it was not very expensive. You could even drink the water.

There is a piece I wrote about this trip on my web site at www.Adaptivetech.net click on unplugged. You can email me from there if you have any other questions.

The best in what respect? The prettiest, the most fun, the strangest or the most unusual? I'll pick the most beautiful and say Iguazu Falls in S. America. But I'm leaving in a couple weeks for Jordan and Egypt. Things can change.

The most tranquil and beautiful place for me is the Okavango Delta in Botswana.
The most scenic has to be the Swiss Alps - particularly around Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, and Murren. This is followed by Cape Town, South Africa (my home).
The best golfing destination has to be Ireland.
The best wildlife area has to be Serengeti and Ngorongoro in Tanzania.
The most exciting city must be Hong Kong, followed by London, Paris and Bangkok.
The cleanest place must be Singapore followed by the whole of Switzerland.
Top of my to-do list is British Colombia and Alaska, the U.S.A national parks and Grand Canyon, and New England in the fall. Should I be adding any others?

Leaving for Tanzania tomorrow, so I can't yet add that to my list, but my top trips have been :

-Thailand (especially the area around Mae Hong Song...visit the ethnic hill tribes)
-Peru
-Norway
-San Francisco
-Yosemite Park (California)

A highly recommended book that will give you some travel ideas is "1000 Places to See Before You Die". Just a short piece on a lot of great places.

1. Paris, France (The south of France aint bad either!)
2. Tuscany, Italy
3. Mykanos, Greece

All of these places for the warm welcoming people, food, beauty & history...just over all experiences were really great.
I tend to fall in love with ANYWHERE I am on vacation at ! But, what is it about Paris? My heart aches to return. I am MAKING myself do Africa this year & not return to Paris or Tuscany again & again...
I believe a great vacation means anywhere you travel you leave a little piece of your heart! For me, that means I made the most of the time I spent there-!
I can't wait to see where you pick!

Wow - the best place in the world and why... well, I am working on just the web site for you http://www.bombasticlife.com but it's not done yet (you can check out what I have so far).

But to answer your question...

Africa - the safaris both Tanzania and South Africa - both are BOMBASTIC

Portugal - Lisbon - wonderful and cheap

The Maldives - just to kick back and relax (careful, some resorts are not too good)

Sri Lanka - the weather and the service is BOMBASTIC

Turks and Caicos - best beach I've ever seen

Venice - just because

Home - there is no place like it

Andrew,

Seems like you are more interested in boosting your numbers on search engines than in genuinely participating on this forum.
