Tanzania trip Advice

Hello,

I'm planning to go with a friend of mine to Tanzania in September for 10 days.Due to flights schedules 3 days will be off flying (to/from). Therefore I wanted to understand if it would be feasible and convenient to have a safari for 3-4 days and other 4-3 days in Zanzibar or if it would be better to just focus on one of the two areas.

If so which route would you suggest? which park? (kilimangiaro's?) are the only ferries departing fro Dar es Salaam?

Any other suggestion is more than appreciated.

Thank you,

If I had just 7 days for Tanzania in Sept, I wouldn't even consider Zanzibar. I would spend all 7 on Safari split up between the Northern Serengeti and Tarangire

I agree with Frank. We spent 12 days on safari, and it was barely enough.

Concur with such short time being spent solely on safari. Depending on point of entry into Tanzania might suggest southern versus northern parks especially to maximize time afield. Ruaha, Mikumi and Selous should be great in September and with boat game drives in Selous. Definitely flying some segements of the trip.

If the northern circuit might also want to fly one segment of the trip to maximize time on safari.
