Safiri salama! Good luck with the wild dogs and the coastal topi. Don’t do anything stupid.

Well, I suppose I can stop looking for you and your wife on the news as you will be in Kenya.

Have another great trip (green with envy) and please do post another hilarious report.

Best,

Leely 2

I will do something stupid within an hour of landing - possibly even going through immigration, Nyamera. Wild dogs would be nice but I hope only for an early cheetah to calm Mrs K's nerves. Those coastal topi are in my sights already - spending all day looking for them while Mrs K observes wild dog pups frolicking with lion cubs (I stole that line) from in front of her tent is another stupid thing I will quite probably do.

Kenya (Tsavo East and West at last, and the Mara) and Tanzania (Tarangire and Ruaha) aby ... actually more than one new lens, but don't tell my wife until she's seen that cheetah - I got keen on photography since last time in Kenya.

Thanks Pol (no time to get my thoughts in order to ask you about Ruaha but thanks for the offer anyway) .... and yes, this is a good time to be leaving the country for three weeks, Leely... we definitely did not want to be live on CNN...

... and talking of that, imagine that you are actually glad that a government you don't like at all declared a state of emergency just so you could be confident nobody was going to try to close the airport on Thursday.

Bye all (feels good to say that again) .... no chance I'll get to post again because it's practically straight from work to the airport tomorrow.
