I guess glassed in patio would sort of describe it but it's more an indoor room that happens to have open views to the outside.

Sorry re the typo - I was typing in a break during a training course I am delivering all week!

Sunroom is another name we use. I have no problem with observatory, just made me wonder about star gazing. I make more typos than anyone here, just playing with your head.
