Sabi Sands

I've read through all of the great information on here but I still have a question. I would like to visit the Sabi Sands area of Kruger in September which I understand is near the end of the dry season so the animals will more likely congregate near the rivers.

Mala Mala has received alot of praise for its viewing potential but it is out of our budget.

Any other recommendations of a property that might have more than a mud hole? Thanks.

Have you looked at Kirkmans? It used to be cheaper than MM, and is on the same river.

The Timbavati Reserve just about 20 miles north of Sabi Sand Reserve has several good camps. Easy to get to. Easy drive into the camps from Hoedspruit. Or easy flight from JNB to Hoedspruit and the camp will pick you up.

Those camps not as $$$$$ as MalaMala or Londolozi or Singita ,etc.

Check CCAfrica's site www.safariasap.com they have specials from time to time, which is normally a bit cheaper than their normal rates.

we have been in Simbambili in september the quality/price ratio is very good there and the leopard sightings are just amazing - just everyday!
Also I agree that the Timbavati is great: have been three times; one of the best deals was Tanda Tula Tented camp -not very big and not THE most game but we have seen a LOT and the camp and atmosphere are just great!
NGALA tented (CCA) :fantastic as well, more luxurious but not over the top;
