Making Robben Island bookings has always been a tricky process. Thank heavens a new system seems to be in place to accommodate online bookings. If you go to:

Click on "book your tickets online" or simply go directly to

http://www.webtickets.co.za/robbenisland/

Using the above method you can now at long last make your bookings online which should, I hope, make matters a lot easier for you when you visit Cape Town. I just want to mention that I have not used this system as yet but I cant see why it should not work.

I just purchased Robben Island tickets online for an upcoming trip to Cape Town in January. The ticketing process worked extremely well, and I have printed them at home -- no need to worry about standing in line or being disappointed with a sold-out situation upon arrival. Thanks for the tip!

That should help. I had a small glitch with my tickets that worked out fine.

Robben Island was one of the most moving sites I have visited.

Overall I am so pleased this system is now in place because this has been a problem for many visitors to Cape Town in the past.
