I came to Fodors to listen in on the discussion of the proposed road through the Serengeti -- where is it? I have no desire to start a separate thread and surely there must be one. I just can't find it. The NYTimes article (link below) is a week old already.

What you want is item 23 in this forum right now. Note that the NYT "article" you referred to is a blog, not journalism per se. It is being cited repeatedly as fact in various posts ("as reported in the NYT"), but it is someone's thoughts and opinions. There's not much in the way of hard information about any of this.

The best way to gather more information incl. maps etc is via Facebook as there are more folks who are deeply concerned about the highway incl. locals who inform on pro/cons etc.
Fodors - as the moderators have confirmed - is more regarding TRAVEL than conservation.
