Power converter needed?
HI all
My nephew will be travelling to Saudi Arabia in January for work and then staying for a few extra days for personal exploring. I am looking for another gift for him for the holidays and could use some help.
Coming from the US will he need a power converter to be able to charge his phone and headphones? A google search is giving me conflicting and confusing info. Outlet is the same but power is not??? He is not bringing a microwave so does the power matter? Sorry I know this is such a silly question but would appreciate a straight answer.
Thanks

Assuming he is only taking dual voltage items -- cell phone, laptop, tablet etc -- all he needs is an inexpensive plug adapter. Saudi plugs are Type G - it has three rectangular pins (its the same sort as used in the UK) . Order on line or go into any store that sells travel accessories (from walmart to Target to luggage shops etc) and buy one or more type G plug adapters (I usually travel with two so I can charge two things at the same time)
If he is taking something that is not dual votage (like a hairdryer or ?? ) just DON'T. Not worth the hassle needing a power converter. Just suggest he buy a local single current one when he gets to SA.
