Congrats on your summit. I'm going with Tusker in June and it's supposed to be the Western Breach, but it's too early to tell.

The alternate route you took - it seems like a modified Machame route - only, instead you departed from Lemosho and you had a night at the crater camp. Is that an accurate description?

How was the weather? Was it very cold on your ascent? I'm trying to decide on my packing list and your observations on clothing choices would be helpful.

Also, Tusker suggests we take trail snacks - things like power bars. Do you know how easy it is to get a few things, like candy bars and whatnot is in Moshi? I don't want to have to bring a lot of stuff from home.

You mention that the trek was very difficult. What was the next hardest hike you've ever done? I'm just trying to get a point of comparison.

Anything you wish you had brought/left behind or done in retrospect?
