You have some great images. I really like the zebra rolling in the dirt and the lilac breasted roller and the sunset and . . .!

Fantastico--wow, you obviously know what you're doing with a camera as well as with a horse.

I remember your trip report; sounded like a pretty exciting trip. Thanks for the photos and the report, girlpolo.

girlpolo33:

Loved the pictures. What is the story with the lion with the acutely inflamed eye - looks like the eyeball was missing? Did you hear any stories about what happened?

Thanks for sharing your safari with us.

Technical help, please: how can I access those pictures of girlpolo33 WITHOUT having to type in the website she cites? It's complicated and takes too much time. What am I missing?

Thanks, everyone, for the kind words regarding my photos. It was the first time I used the new camera, so I have a lot to learn! Especially when there is very little light for shooting.

Sandyca: I was using a Nikon Coolpix 8700 and really like the camera.

Jan: If you look closely, you will notice the lioness has a wound just beside her left eye. We think it was a warthog that inflicted the injury. It's so heartwrentching to think the lives of those beautiful cubs depend entirely on the health (and hunting ability) of the mother. It's difficult to remain emotionally uninvolved when you can clearly see that every day is a struggle for these magnificent sentient beings. I know you have a special afinity for elephants and feel very much the same way.

RnRForever: If you post an e-mail address, I am more than happy to send you the pix online.
