Patty, Kavey and others who also post on Thorn Tree
Hmm, I wonder if this thread will get yanked?
There's a gentleman leaving for Kenya/Tanzania in 2 days over on the Africa branch of the Thorn Tree asking for all kinds of advice. I am horrible with details and am trying--but failing--to reassure him/not lead him astray.
He is going with his father and his son on a smart tours trip(?). He says they have never travelled overseas before.
His tipping questions really baffle me.
If anyone has any time, could you pop over to the Thorn Tree and offer this guy advice, opinions, words of wisdom? Hate to think of someone in knots over his "trip of a lifetime."

I think I answered his tipping question already (if it's the same poster I'm thinking about). Did he ask something new? I'll go look.

Patty, you're a saint. Yes, you answered. He doesn't seem to have really taken it in yet.
His anxiety is making me anxious!

Found it but I don't think I can add anything - it's been covered pretty well.
I don't think I want to get into the whole issue of taking sweets/ rotting teeth etc. There's a limit at how much it's fair to throw at someone so clearly overwhelmed by everything but already doing their best to do the right thing.

Kavey, Patty,
Thanks for checking that guy's thread. The wonderful thing about the internet: I now get to worry about perfect strangers.
