Our Itinerary! Do we have enough time in each location?

Hi,

Does this itinerary give us enough time to see the places we are visiting without
rushing around? Basically to get a sense of the place?

Is there a MUST SEE that we need to include which is possible through day trips from Rabat/Fez/Marrakech.

Please NOTE: Travel time is cut out from the list. Following lists out the
number of days we actually GET TO SPEND in each place.

-- Casablanca - arriving & overnight (1 day)
-- Rabat (one and half days)
-- City of Fez (3 full days)
-- Meknes&Vollubilis&Moullay Idris (1 day)
-- City of Marrakech (2 and half days)
-- Essaouira (1 day)

We have to skip overnights in desert all together since we do not want to be in remote areas. It is by choice.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Fez, Marrakesh and Essaouira are all great destinations. You would probably appreciate a little more time in Essaouira. I briefly cover this itinerary on my travel blog (ridingthebuseswordpress.com)

Thanks Fanjoy. I tried looking up the blog but I do not have access.

I am kind of unhappy about time we have in Essaouira as well. We were going to do an overnight there but I had to make it a day trip from Marrakech. Do you think we miss out a lot by not overnighting there?

Fes and Meknes are very close in proximity (about an hour or less on the train). Personally, I'd combine those two cities (along with Volubilis/Moulay Idris) into 3 days. That will give you an extra day in Essouira, which really deserves at least an overnight stay.

How are you travelling?

You will get a much better overview of the country if you spend at least an overnight in Essaouira. There are lots of interesting restaurants there, outdoor cafes where you can relax and people watch, excellent artwork that you can buy in a relaxed atmosphere. Plus the town itself is so charming. (Here is the correct link to my blog ridingthebuses.wordpress.com Sorry about the previous typo)
