North Am/Israel Power Adapters

I'm confused over the kind of plug adapter that I need for using North American electrical appliances in Israel. I've been told that a standard European two-pin adapter will work, but I have also seen descriptions of a 3-pin socket that takes flat prongs. Will a standard European adapter work, or do I need a special one?
Thanks!
Al F.

I've always used the standard Euro 2-pin; haven't seen (what sounds like UK-style) flat 3-pins.

Ditto, the 2-pin worked for me.

You're most likely to find both types. Continental Euro 2-pins (2 round prongs, not flat ones as in the US).
3-pins are totally different from the UK style. Looks more like,

I don't think either one takes flat prongs.

Gosh, my attempted ASCII graphic is not showing up the way I intended.
Anyway, it's three round prongs lined horizontally. -o-o-o-
Not one vertically and two on the side horizontally as in the UK. _ | _
