Back from Tanzania
Wife and I just got back a few hours ago and can not sleep. Thought I would check the board. Had great 15 day trip involving northern circuit and Ruaha/Mikumi. Promise an report and photos shortly. Used Canon s-3 and was very pleased. Recent rains have extra vegetation for this time of year particularly in Mikumi where manager at Vuma Hills camp told us most for this time of year in some 40 yrs. Experienced some of the wildebeast migration in the western corridor and was truly humbled with number of animals. More later. Dick

glad to hear you had a great trip and looking foreward to hearing more. We're leaving for TZ on Sunday, Is the vegetation very high? we won't be in the western corridor until the 18th what do you think our chances are of seeing any of the migration?

keaho5, some areas the grasses were quite high while at other places the viewing was great. According to our guide, given the recent rains further south in the Serengeti wildebeast movement has a back and forth motion. Actually, we saw quite a large number of gnu moving south. So, who knows what will occur over the next couple of weeks. Realize this is not helping you much. However, even in areas without great numbers of wildebeast we still saw quite a variety of wildlife. Doubt if I get our report done before Sunday but let me finish mowing the lawn and pack and I will be glad to carry your bags for you!!
