Sorry I was obviously too thin skinned and interpreted your lines wringly - as the whole subjects gets really under my skin.

I did question those two names not because of the alias they have chosen - I just searched the posts they posted and couldn't fine anything of quality.

OUGH - hope we have sorted it out now and no mor confusion.

I jope you accept my apology.

I did not want the facts to be torn apart and opened another one where another posted also his findings - really interesting. You might read that as well:

Have a pleasant week!

SV - When I joined this forum recently, I read your posts with great interest, and it was apparent you care deeply about many of the issues I care deeply about.

I am deeply committed to the wildlife of Africa. I am also involved in a very hands-on fashion. I've been the business for long enough to understand that most "facts" are only "facts" in the view of their interpreter. Many things are not as they seem, and there are very few absolutes, and a whole lot of gray stuff in between. We simply don't have all the answers (or the "facts" for that matter).

Sadly, I've seen so many of these discussions degenerate into name calling and personal attacks on other members that I wonder what these forums are all about.

I too recall you casting aspersions on the credibility of posters by drawing conclusions from the screen names, and even browsing their facebook profiles in order to seek ammunition. These are things that many forumites distance themselves from. One of those posters appears to have withdrawn completely from this forum, and the value they could contribute to these discussions has been lost.

I, too, have made incorrect assumptions based on a screenname and a misunderstanding of a context. It was a situation that caused me profound embarrassment.

Unfortunately, if these forums continue to become slanging matches, then many posters will simply withdraw, to the detriment of the travel community as a whole.

I have always found your posts very thought-provoking, but they are steadily losing their effectiveness, even amongst those who share your passions and support your views. I, too, love a good debate, but find things are getting a little tiresome.

Lets try keep these forums a little more courteous and constructive, and concentrate on the things we all care deeply about.

I appreciate your openness stating your case.

But pls be fair and have a look at who provoked whom - who baited whom.

I always add links and sources. The facts cannot be neglected.

So pls do me a favour and evaluate thoroughly who is to blame here.

SV

BTW:
When I am feeling being stalked by a poster and do my research in order to find some clues why that stalking takes place (as I research all my stuff) then going to facebook is legitimate as it is an open forum. On FB I can only se what's openly posted. There is nothing wrong with it.

Hi SV,

I'm not trying to justify anybody's case or actions or lack thereof.

Your posts have proved invaluable, and I acknowledge your contributions (as do most posters on this forum). These matters get me riled up pretty intensely.

But sometimes there needs to be a sense of balance ... anyway, I'm off to bed, otherwise my sense of balance will be seriously damaged. LOL!

Night all!

Irma,

You never give up do you, but nevertheless lies spread by you are constant. Why is it that you do not believe the truth but you are prepard to accept only the old out of date data that agrees with your position.
Hunting for Cheetah and Leopard is currently the subject of a moratorium, should you not be celebrating rather than publicising your tired old and false prejudices?

Cheetah on the menu - "not for export" means no license needed! Cheetah on private land in Namibia means private asset. It's not without reason that farmers ask CCF and Africat to collect the cubs when the mother has been shot!

I should add: "not for export" offers the "opportunity" to kill a cheetah without the necessity of having a license as the remains remain within the country!
