Namibia Plus Elsewhere, but how do you get there?
I am considering a June or Aug trip to Namibia in the next couple of years, spending a week or so in Namibia. I'd like to include time in Zambia or Zimbabwe as well. Or maybe even do a Namibia and Rwanda combo.
When I searched for flights on kayak, it seemed that adding other countries onto Nambia was quite awkward. The Kigali to Windhoek search ended up taking over 100 hours and costing $7500 dollars. That's laughable. Even Windhoek-Lusaka seemed to eat up too much travel time.
Any of your thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks

If the elsewhere you are tacking on is Botswana, all seems well as getting to/from Maun is pretty convenient.
Here is a link to Air Namibia

But I'm not doing well trying to go other places.
You could email the Cardboard Box travel agent in Namibia and they might be able to help. I think I might do that. They've provided info on land arrangements.

Both Botswana and South Africa are not too difficult or expensive to get to from Namibia. Flights to Maun are fairly regular and you should be able to track down some reasonable fares. Or for South Africa you can look at either flying or hiring a one way rental and driving!

Lynn,
Air Namibia fly from either Vic Falls or Livingstone to Windhoek and I think they do Maun too.
There's a good British Airways fare JNB-VF return for $300 (AUD) and a similar one for JNB-WDH return. A travel agent in Hobart has recommended the bus from Livingstone to Windhoek - Intercape I think she used.
Cheers,
Pol

As if I need a reminder of Botswana's appeal!
I actually found an early Johannesburg to Windhoek flight on SAA. With a travel day the previous day, that means only one day lost, so that's not bad. Better than 100 hours.
