I only learned about this today, can you believe I managed to miss the news yesterday? A friend emailed to ask if any of my friends or family in India were affected but none live in this area. Does anyone know where Hari is based?

Terrorism seems to be escalating all around the world - will the world ever be able to step back from this - be able to stamp it out?

Kavey,

Hari told me recently he's about an hour's flight out of Chennai (Madras)...long way from Mumbai.

Thanks John. I hope none of Hari's friends and family have been affected. It's hard to think about how many families, how many people will be affected by this.

Thanks John, Kavey for your messages. Yes, it's an awful tragedy!!!

Kavey, i'm in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu in the South.

This is truly tragic. Worse, the actual death count wont really be known for a few days. All that we hear in the news, i guess are just estimates.

Rgds

As I sit here this morning, weeping for the loss of life, I read this letter from the Mumbai editor of Time Out.
I had to share it.

My heart goes out to everyone who is involved in this, not just our travelers but all of those gentle and amazing people living in Mumbai.

Scarlett, thank you for linking to that letter. It reminded me of a time when I briefly lived in India and got to witness the unbelievable kindess and generousity of the Indian heart.

My thoughts go with the people of Mumbai (what for me will always be Bombay).

Clematis,

Which part of India did you live in?

Hari, Ahmedabad in Gujarat. I know you will know where it is but for the others it is a textile city between Mumbai and Delhi.
