I love Google. I found more info...
Lucian Msamati is a Royal Shalespeare Company actor who recently played the title role in Pericles.

There is a better photo of him in this link (see page 5 of the pdf file).

It also appears he wrote a play and founded a theater company in Zimbabwe.
Info and another good photo is linked below:

A TV series? Not sure I like that idea. If it is on American commercial networks like NBC, ABC, CBS you can be sure they will popularize/change it to such extent that it will be worthless. (They will also have to have a "laugh track" on it which I hate). If it is on premium cable/satellite channel like HBO then that is more promising. Except I don't subscribe/pay for HBO. Having the BBC do would would be my first choice for a TV production. Each book could be an hour show.

ps - everyone has read the subject series of books, yes? Really a fun read.

My guess (guess only) if it's produced for TV, it'll be a mini-series on cable or one of the network PBS stations. Not unlike when they made "A Year in Provence" (w/ John Thaw... Inspector Morse for those who may not recognise the name), in four segments for each season, shown over 4/wk period.
