Morocco Self Guided Cycling
Couple (age 60), we have ridden bikes all over the world and one of us is in the process of learning Arabic. Over the past 30 years we have visited Morocco maybe three times and mainly stayed in the Essouira/Marakesh region, would be interested in Rabat Fez etc. We don't want to cycle in the Altas Mountains (knees are also 60 years old) but are interested in riding roughly 40km a day for a couple or three weeks with the odd days off here and there.
Where would be a good place to go?

Have a look at the links I posted on ThornTree forum, https://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntr...#post_22966318
One option you might consider is sticking your bikes in the luggage area of a bus to escape the boredom of coastal plains, and to get high up into the mountains for a 'downhill only' journey. The Middle Atlas south of Azrou is magical, riding through fairly flat uplands with karst scenery, cedar forests and wild monkeys, springs, volcanos, lakes...
