Morocco: 8 days with 2 kids.

As we are back from the Namib Desert/Sossusvlei dunes (last june) we are considering to concentrate and spend our 7 nights in the towns of Marrakesh and Fez, but due to limited time I would avoid to drive. Any good hints for travelling by train (backtrack through Casablanca unavoidable), timetables ? first or second class ?

We took the train from Casablanca to Fez, albeit some 9 years ago, so things may have changed. The station is quite small in Casablanca and not confusing. We bought our tickets, 1st class, one day before. The tickets were not expensive. We were in a closed compartment for 6. It was quite pleasant. The train to Fez leaves in the morning and returns to Casablanca in the afternoon, so you may not be able to connect that day. We left Fez by air, also connecting in Casablanca

To travel from Marrakech to Fez, you must travel through Casablanca. You can see schedules and timetables at (horaires).

First class is only a little more expensive than second class, but is more comfortable.

The train takes about 8 hours.

thenk you very much.

At the end, with only 8 days, we decided to pick Rabat and Marrakech. We are landing in Casablanca at 4:30pm. Have checked the web site for train and it seems there are only 1st and 2nd class fares. Any discount for children aged 5 and 11 ?
