Mexican food and cakes

Hi everyone,
I'm going to Cape Town with my girlfriend to spend her birthday, her favourite food is mexican and she likes the cheese cake the most. Any good recommendations about any of those things?
Next time I should go to Mexico

santiagodaa,

Trust me, any Mexican food you find in Cape Town will only be a tremendous disappointment. If you want to surprise your girlfriend with some great food (that can also be very spicy), go to Bukhara...it is fantastic.

Hari,

You have no idea how bad I want to visit India...who knows, maybe later this year but, without a doubt, if not this year then for sure next year.

Thanks for the answers.
There is also a Bukhara restaurant in Santon where we live and I also recommend it to everyone.
I'm not sure we can arriva to Melissa's Deli before they close the kitchen (8???), so I still need some help.
Maybe a romantic solution for dinner?

To be fair, though, there is a much larger Indian immigrant population in South Africa than there is a Mexican one. Admittedly the highest concentration is in the Durban area rather than Cape Town but I suspect the Indian food one finds in CT will beat the Mexican!

santiagodaa,

If you really want to impress your girlfriend, fly her to L.A. and I would be happy to take you to some of the most amazing Mexican restaurants you have ever experienced!

Sandi,

Couple of fab mexican places in NYC also....one that stands out is on 56th street. Dont remember the name, but, close to the Parker Meridien hotel (in that vicinity)

Hari -

You're absolutely correct, but as Rocco was focusing on the "left" coast, I had to concur.

Plenty of excellent Mexican restaurants everywhere in NYC.
