Mala Mala: trip report in video
My trip report is going to be in 5 parts: Cape Town and the Garden Route, Mala Mala, Selinda Walking Trail, the Great Wilderness Journey in Botswana, and the gorillas in Rwanda. I finished the Mala Mala one first, so here it is.
We stayed in Mala Mala Main Camp and loved everything about it. Graham, our guide, is the best guide we've had anywhere. He's one of the smartest people I've ever met, on a wide range of subjects. Our group was also very congenial (unlike in Botswana!), so meals were always entertaining.
Full disclosure about the video (especially for Carol, one of our group, who reads this forum occasionally)- I took all the still pictures at Mala Mala, but I added in some leopard video from Botswana just to jazz it up a little!

I was with Graham and Carol last May at Main Camp. I totally agree with you about Graham. He is very good, one of the best guides I've ever had also. It should be noted though that he's not a full-time guide anymore; he's got his own business in town (I think it's computer related, but can't remember exactly). However, he's always there guiding at MM when Carol comes though, because she's such a regular and always wants Graham for her guide.

Which person is Carol? I've heard of both Carol and Graham, so, just curious,
I'm now "wild" about the music
Would prefer something African. Oliver Mtukuduzi has some good songs I like to use for background. Just my 2 cents.
regards - tom

About the music: I have 4 more to go, and some will definitely incorporate African music. I just gravitated toward "Wild Thing" for this one since we saw so many wild things.
As for "the equivalent of a watermark," I have no idea what this means. The version I used was the original track from the Troggs (it took me forever to figure out how to "unprotect" it from my itunes files!). I actually got a funny communication from youtube telling me it was copyrighted by UMG but they didn't object to my using it.

Hi bobbieharv
Enjoyed your video trip report. I am also a fan of MM and I also think the rangers are great, which is why I always find it surprising when someone mentions a ranger from MM who is less than great!
Please ignore the comments re watermark - it will be connected to another thread and sometimes some people cannot resist - as you will see, the post was not even directed to you! I thought I had a lot of spare time, but not even I have enough spare time to try to work out some of these childish feuds!
Kind regards
Kaye

Lynn - good suggestion. The video is 2 minutes and 48 seconds.
ArthurSA:
It looks like it might be because of the music - according to you tube:
"the copyright owner may have requested the video only be shown in
certain countries. For example, a broadcaster may have uploaded videos
of a TV show they're hoping to sell to other countries; to protect
their sales, they may ask YouTube to show these videos only in
countries they've already been broadcast in. Or all the various
artists, composers, graphic designers etc. may not have given
permission for their work to be used outside of the country."
Here's a link in case you're really really interested in watching it!

I'll try to use non-protected music for my next videos!

Nope. First suggestion on that site didn't work, and the second trick got to "Bobbie & Chip in Africa Part II" but "We're sorry, this video is no longer available."
But no matter, thanks for the attempt anyway.

No, it's not banned. UMG (the music copyright owner) must just not want it played in your country for some reason!
Since you've gone to so much trouble, here's a link to it on the site I originally made it on (which is a terrific slide show creator by the way):

For a 3 minute video, count me in!
I viewed it on the second link. Didn't try the first one.
I felt like I was transported thousands of miles right back to Mala Mala with your first shots. Great safari action with adorable lion cubs! Nice Saddle Bill finale.
