London GTG?

I know from past threads that there are a few of us based in or near London, UK. I noticed in the "Where are you?" thread that there's another poster in North London (where I am based) that I hadn't known about.

My weekends are fairly hectic at the moment but would anyone like to join me for an evening meal GTG in London?

Kavey, I'll be over in November and meeting up with Julian and yourself for lunch/dinner is high on my list of priorities.

Hope to see you then,

Matt

Hi Kavey

I work in central London, so I'm always around from Monday to Friday and some weekends too. I think it will be a great idea to do a GTG.

Regards

Great! And I'm pretty sure we have some other Londoner's too - hopefully they won't be shy and will agree to meet us too!

Clematis, GTG = get together!

Hello,

As it happens I'll be in London on August 22 for a meeting - anyone want to do dinner?

Cheers,
Julian

I should be free (though not working that day so could conceivably get a non-London contract that day). Would love to meet for dinner... v. low budget would be appreciated.

Hi Julian & Kavey

August 22 sounds good - I finish at 5:30pm and I'll be in central London, so any meeting point should be good for me.

Excellent - can we decide exactly where nearer the time as I don't know where I'll be based that day yet... if that's OK?

Good to know that lots of fodorites are located in central London. Will definitely keep you all posted about my future visits....whenever that is!!!

Please do Hari! I've been meeting Fodorites coming through London for many many years... including those from both Africa and Europe boards I've met an awful lot ... probably between 50 and 100 easily!

Kavey:

We will be in London on Sunday. However, we are going sightseeing (my wife wants to take a boat ride on the Thames) and I do not know where we will be at dinner time. Would have loved to get together with you and other Fodorites there. Hopefully another time.

Thanks,

Kevin from California

Hello Gaurang and Kavey,

My meeting runs until 6pm, followed by drinks, so a later time would work better for me. Alternatively, I can meet you for coffee or dessert later that night.

Cheers,
Julian

Hi Julian

In which part of London is your meeting taking place?

I don't mind starting dinner at 7:30pm/8:00pm.

Kavey would that be too late?

Regards

If it's a weeknight I'd certainly appreciate not pushing it too late - 7 or 7.30 would be great - Julian - what time do you think you'd be able to join us?

Kevin, sorry we won't be able to touch base - I'll be in London most of Saturday running a GTG for friends on a photography forum (Tips From The Top Floor) but will be at home on Sunday as we're going to a BBQ at our neighbours' house...

Hello,

I just double-checked, and my meeting actually ends at 730pm, so 8pm is probably the earliest time I can make unless you choose a place in Covent Garden -- the meeting is at the Strand Palace Hotel, and Covent Garden is the closest Tube station.

I'll send both of you an email offline to work out the logistics.

Cheers,
Julian
