Leaving for Malawi/Madagascar

Love this forum and the well-informed travellers' comments and their valuable experiences. I leave day after tomorrow for Malawi and then to Madagascar.

I'll be at Wilderness Safari camps Mvuu Lodge, Mumbo Island and Kaya Mawa in Malawi along with one night aboard the Ilala freighter. Our time in Madagascar will be pretty short going to Morandava and baobab alley as well as Moroansetra, Nosy Mangabe and the Mosoala Peninsula.

I'll share some photos and a trip report upon my return. Bon Voyage!

I've been to both of those places, Malawi in 2001 and Madagascar in 2005.

Are you staying at Chez Maggie in Morondova, which is where I stayed, and where host, Gary, is incredibly helfpul. He and his team met me at Morondova airport, took me to Baobob alley, and then on to Kirindy, a fabulous, small park, but with lots of different lemurs. After our night hike in Kirindy, we drove back to Morondova. It was my favorite day in Madagascar.

And the next day I had amazing crabs, pulled right from the Mozambique channel, for lunch. I wish I had spent more time at Chez Maggie -- great spot right on the beach.
