Kruger v. Mala Mala

Has anyone stayed at both K and MM? If so, do you find one more abundant with wild life and the safari "feeling." What about price? Is one a bit cheaper than the other? Are there any other parks in S.A. that you would recommend to a budget traveler? I've been reading a bunch of people's reports, which are amazing but I would like simple replys to these questions. Thanks!

Mala Mala is way more expensive than Kruger.

7 nights in Mala mala for my family of four would have costed about $14000.

7 nights self drive in Kruger I'm budgeting about $3000.

I recommed you to do both K and MM. So we did last june and it was fantastic.
In MM you have full board and 4WD with guide and tracker and 2 game drives a day. In K you drive by your own in a standard 2WD car and all you can see and feel is just for you !!

In the Sabi Sands private game reserve there is not only MM but also other lodges which costs the half and what I have learned is that you do not get more wildlife viewing only by paying more !! You just have to be in the right place at the right moment !!

You may clic on my name and scroll down until you find my trip report !

have a great trip !!
