Gametrackers uses a wide variety of vehicles, so make sure you know which kind you're getting.
This probably doesn't apply in your case, but I was surprised to learn recently that they sometimes use large overland style trucks for their group camping safaris like the ones toward the bottom of this page - http://www.gametrackersafaris.com/gtfleet.php
I saw it in an online album and asked the poster if that was the same vehicle that was used for both transportation to the park and game drives because I'd never seen one on the road or in the parks before and she indicated that it was.

Wow Thanks for everyone's thoughts and suggestion. I will follow up with them all.
I will most likely hear from my friend in Kenya in 3 to 4 weeks. I am sure he will do research before making any suggestion to me. I PROMISE I will post his reply to me.
Can't wait!

Impacked,
What a lucky granddaughter! My grandparent took me to the zoo when I was younger.
Patty,
Aren’t those big trucks for Turkana expeditions?
Leely,
I’m having problems with that sweepstake. You need a British postcode to participate. You also need to have plans to buy a vehicle, but I’m a good liar, so that’s not a problem. The safari is 3 nights for 2 people at Elsa’s Kopje in Meru NP and 3 nights for 2 people at Tortilis in Amboseli. Born Free is very active in the Amboseli court case and they are environmental sponsorship partners with Land Rover … It’s a FLYING safari and LR wants to know if you’re interested in PETROL or DIESEL for your future vehicle – there are no other choices. I happen to enjoy inhaling diesel fumes – I’d be more harmful than president Kibaki if I could afford it - but the Landcruiser is the real safari vehicle. Now I need to get a British address.

Nyamera,
Is this an ethical problem or a post code problem? One of the two is probably easily fixed...
Good luck. Enter and win. Or maybe Kavey will.
impacked, yes, I too would like to hear what your former cab driver/current friend recommends.

Nyamera,
I thought so too, but this woman went to the Masai Mara for 3 or 4 days. I remember I was very surprised when I saw the vehicle photo in her album. This was somewhere on the TA board and now I can't find the post. I think she said she paid $250 for her safari.
