Kaye, it was hot. We didn't have any rain but it was muddy in many spots. I would love to go again. So many places so little time and $$ ...

leely--I love the eyes of the gorilla in the first link. Great pictures!

We still haven't firmed up our plans, but all of you are making me really want to do this. I just still have some safety reservations that I have to get past!

Oh Caligirl try and get past them!

Mine was a once off trip and already I am getting ready to return at the beginning of 2015.
Now I am looking at an animal rehabilitation centre for June 2014 and a few of my choices are in Zimbabwe and while my safety will be a concern, I very much doubt it will be stopping me from going as life can be too short and I must do what I can when I can and not wish I had done something when I could have! You know what I mean anyhow!

Cindy, yep I would it expect it would be as it was not cold when we were there in June. mmmmm Cindy so true, too much to do and now have so many things I must plan my hols around that makes it that much more difficult to get away!

Kind regards

Kaye

Kaye,
Thank you for the encouragement. I needed that. When I tell friends our tentative plans, I am met with total shock and disbelief. I need to be around some people who are less risk averse, I guess!

Caligirl I think you do need it if people around are being so overly cautious! I certainly do not put myself in danger but goodness gracious, anything can happen at home and if I didn't do anything because something may happen I may well never leave home again! I am in my mid 50's now and I don't want to be saying to myself in 20 years time, why didn't I do such and such when I could!!!
So yes, please do want you want to do now while you can and just show common sense when in these different countries!
Start your planning now as I am, getting my trips to the first half of 2015 organised!

Kind regards

Kaye

Kaye, thanks! That's what I'm doing--planning for summer 2015. I don't want to wait too long to get the gorilla permits, etc. I figure early to middle of 2014 will work for getting those.

I, too, am in my mid fifties, and want to do these things while I still can. No regrets!
