Kaye,

Your photos are so wonderful. Thanks for sharing. The light and the green vegetation were perfect complements to the animals, especially the leopards.

Do you have a favorite time of the year to visit the Sabi Sands, or does each season offer it's own advantages?

Terrific - you certainly had some great sightings. I think the Purple Roller is actually a European Roller though. Nice Civet sighting, I have a some video of a Genet that was so relaxed I actually was bored filming him sitting by the road doing nothing, hoping he would get up and climb a tree, but he just sat there.
Cheetah were amazing for us also, including 5 at one sighting with nice interaction, while the Lion's are not quite what they were, it opens things up for everyone else. The 3 Jackal pups were in fine form for us also, in fact Clarendon was amazingly prodcutive.

Hi Matt

Thank you for that correction to the European Roller, I shall change that this evening.
I had never seen so many new lions, that did not seem known to the rangers - really odd groupings. Hopefully by the time I am back in March the lions may be a bit more settled but that may be a bit too quick!

Kind regards,

Kaye

Great photos! Mala Mala is one of my favorite places. I stayed there for 10 days at Harry's back in 2001. It was nice to see some familiar faces...White Cloth Female and Rock Drift Male among them. I especially liked the male lion at night, lit from the side.

Hi Alejandra,

Thank-you and yes, it is worth staying longer and yes, lucky me!

Hi ShayTay,

MalaMala is my favourite place, with no place in close second, so that makes my travelling plans so easy! My first visit was Sept 2001, and I love seeing the old faces, but then I love seeing new faces as well. I liked the lit lion as well, but the niece that was with me thought I was getting a bit arty!

Kind regards

Kaye
