I want you all to feel sorry for me..... I'll be in the air for 18 hours and 40 mins as a minimum (Syd - Bangkok - Cairo). There will also be a stopover in Bankok for 2 to 3 hours minimum.

Our total time from home to Cairo was 23 hours -- first, we flew San Francisco to Portland and had a few hours layover (our flight was more than an hour late leaving). Then we flew Portland to Frankfurt, where we, of course, missed our connection, so we had to wait 6 hours for the next flight to Cairo. Then Frankfurt to Cairo. We left our house at 4:30 a.m. Pacific time on Friday and arrived in Cairo at 9:30 p.m. Cairo time on Saturday. We slept all of Saturday night and most of Sunday LOL!

1 hour 10 minutes - Local to O'Hare
2 hours 40 minutes - layover in O'Hare
7 hours 35 minutes - O'Hare to London
10 hours 10 minutes - Layover in London.
4 hours 45 minutes - London to Cairo.

Total flight time = 13 hours and 30 minutes.
Total travel time = 26 hours and 20 minutes.

For my dates of travel, I couldn't get a flight from a US airport directly to Cairo, and the evening flight to Cairo was the first one I could get leaving London.

On the upside, while it's going to take me around the same amount of time to get there as it does from Australia, I get to spend an entire morning at Windsor Castle while on the way to Egypt.

From where? That should figure into the answer, I guess.
