Is there a train from Marrakesh to Merzorga?

HOw long is it and how much is it?

What are the other ways of getting there. I know it is about an 8 hours drive.

How much would it cost for a Grand taxi?

Also is there a train from Merzorga to Essouria? How far is that?

My spelling is probably off, but I hope you know where I mean ( as I am still trying to wrap my mind around these names which I am sure are pronounced waaaay differently that I imagine).

Thanks so much! ( I am trying to plan a trip without a guidebook because I am in Spain and can not find one in English).

There is no train from Marrakech to Merzouga (or Zagora - the closest access to the sahara from Marrakech - but its still 8 hours). The drive from Marrakech to Merzouga is more than 8 hours. Many people break it up into two days, but you could try to do it all in one go. As for the cost of a grand taxi from Mararkech to Merzouga... I dont know exactly, but expect to pay 100 euros (plus or minus 20%).

There is also no train from Marrakech (or anywhere else, for that matter) to Essaouira. The best way to get there is to take a bus or shared taxi from Marrakech (2-3 hours).

That is a big help.

Do you know if there is a train from Fez to Merzouga , how long that is and how much a Grand Taxi would cost for that ( approx.) ?

There is no train to Merzouga.

The only train routes in Morocco link Marrakech, Casa, Rabat, Fes and Tangier.

A grand taxi from Fes to Merzouga costs about 1000-1400 dirhams (90-130 euros) depending on your negotiation skills.
