I was discussing this with my parents who have never heard of MedJet, and they are dubious as to the need for it. They argued that even if I have Medjet coverage, if I am in need of some sort of emergency care it won't be safe for me to be moved anyway. So in the unfortunate event I would need surgery or something, I would have to get it immediately, so Medjet wouldn't do me any good at that point. Is the advantage of MedJet that the level of stability for travel doesn't have to be as high as it does for travel insurance companies - meaning that I have to be stable enough to fly on a regular commercial airliner for my insurance to evacuate me, while MedJet has specially equipped planes so can evacuate me even if I need to be on a stretcher etc.?
This is so confusing...believe me if I had unlimited funds I would just get MedJet and be done with it! But I have to penny pinch.

Read some of the testimonials here. http://medjetassist.com/membership/testimonials.asp They will show how people have used medjet.
You are correct that medjet can fly you home in a specially equipped plane. And the keyword may be "fly you home". They will fly you to the hospital of your choice. The regular travel insurance may fly you to a city not near your home.
