Friends have asked us to join them on a safari in Tanzania in January 2019. The itinerary covers Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Ndutu/Southwest Serengeti, Central Serengeti and Ngorongoro Karatu. The dates are January 15-27. Since this will likely be the only opportunity for us to travel to this area, I want to do all I can to make sure we are there during what would be the best time possible. Most of the guidebooks and online sites do not suggest January but recommend June-October. I do not deal well with high heat and humidity and that is another reason I am concerned about January as opposed to later in the year.

Any thoughts?
