Calling Fodorites who have been to TZ or Kenya end of Dec/early Jan!

Hi,

My husband and I are planning our first safari the end of Dec 07 and early 08. We are thinking about either just going to TZ or to TZ and Kenya. I would love to hear your thoughts on where best to go, the experiences you had, and other highlights or suggestions you may have.

Thanks so much!

Tom is just being ridiculous facetious.

I've only been in June and July, but do have a look at the East Africa Trip Report Index to get some itinerary ideas for your time of year:

Here you can see the possibilities in Tanazania in January:

This is Kenya in February:

This nice reports are from Joe and Mary Ann McDonald,2 very well respected wildlife photographers.

I have been in both Kenya and Tanzanya but in April.
If you want to see the migration you should go to south serengeti and Ngorongoro conservation area, but the Mara is always a great choice and at that time not very crowd so maybe combine both can be a good idea.
I am sure other people will tell you much more.

Good luck.
