Gaurang,

There's an update for you on the Chitabe area on the WS website. Should be good game viewing for your trip....

Thanks Hari.....interesting developments. I had no idea about the fire - one fifth of the concession was burnt, which is quite a large area.

Yes, but with one or two rains the grasses will grow back in no time and attract the animals for the fresh shoots? I predict a fantastic trip, for you....

I don't know whether anybody else has posted the result of this trek in a separate thread, but I've just taken a belated look at the Wilderness site. The trek was completed successfully in six or so days, though one guide had to be evacuated by air after suffering dehydration fairly early in the walk. The map showing the route of the trek is very small and hard to read, but it indicates they did indeed travel south of the Selinda spillway (if not actually south of the Selinda concession), then came up to hit the Savuti channel from the south before reaching the eastern side of Zib lagoon. So there would have been very little chance of intrusion into Selinda game drive or walking areas.

Must have been tough going. You have to admire the fortitude of Livingstone, who crossed this part of the world before he 'found' Victoria Falls.
