Skitrees, we did the sunrise camel ride... a REAL highlight since it was our first day of the tour.. you know your not in Kansas (or even Los Angeles for that matter) any more when you watch the sunrise over the great pyramids!

I don't know when your trip is for. did you mention December? If so then the weather might be less hot then when we were there in September. If you have a day in Luxor I would definately visit the museum.. IMHO the finest museum in Egypt. It's relatively new, so all of the displays are well lit, and have explanations (unlike the Cairo museum). They have some terrific mummies as well, we meant to "pop" in, but had to be kicked out at closeing time because we were in there so long.
They also have a somewhat cheesy mummification museum which is worth a peek if you don't mind a bit of silly.. they do have a lot of mummified animals, which I found interesting. If you do those two things and then spend the day lounging by the pool, I think you would be happy.
The thing to remember about Valley of the Kings and Queens is is that so few of the tombs are open for visitors.. they sometimes a bit of a hike to get to and, when we were there it was HOT inside of them... I would have loved it if Nefertaris tomb had been open to the public, but it's closed for quite some time I believe. I am so excited for all of you going to Egypt.. I would go tomorrow... well actually, if I could clone Magdy and Walaa I certainly would.. since my new Costa Rica venture could use a little Egypt Highlights touch! HAVE FUN!!!
