Well, here are my thoughts (regarding the Egypt part.....can't speak for Jordan)..

1st choice
Pros - 2 days in Cairo
Cons - 3 trains (2 overnights), no cruise

Somehow this option seems rushed, even though it gives you 2 days in Cairo. And I think the train travel could get a bit tiring.

2nd choice
Pros - Nile cruise
Cons - only 1 day in Cairo, no mosques

Nile cruises are always relaxing and a great way to see some wonderful sights along the river, but this option only gives you 1 very rushed day in Cairo.

I'm not a big tour person (only done 1 in my life), but there are others around who know the ins and outs of them. You might want to post the names of the tour operators and the hotels you would be staying in with each option.

The prices for these itineraries seem awfully high. I'm going to Egypt, Jordan and Israel for 2 1/2 weeks in November so I've done a lot of research into companies and prices.

If you like parts of each tour, contact the tour operators and tell them the itinerary you want and have them price it out. The companies can almost always accommodate your wishes. I ended up combining parts of three separate tours into one, with no problem.

But I would look into other tour operators since the prices seem high to me. Good luck!

If this is a private itinerary, then I'd take the best of both. As mentioned, too many trains, need at least 2-full days in Cairo and I'd rather do the Nile cruise or you miss those temples between Aswan/Luxor.

And, absolutely, which hotels, where and what Nile cruise boat. You can certainly name the outfitter/s providing these routings for our comments.

With the best of both, send that to your outfitter and have them price accordingly.

When you say all flights, does that mean international from/return your home country? or between Egypt/Jordan?
