Has anyone gone a horseback safari with Varden Safaris or canoe safari with Natureways?

Hi to luangwablondes james here, you can definitely get north from harare or from our kopje tops camp to kanyemba. the road is ok, very corrugated so best in 4x4. will take possibly 5 to 7 hours from harare - depending on the rains, goats and donkeys! great piece of africa to be driving through as very traditional rural zim - TAKE SPARE WATER AND FUEL.
very good maps can be bought at the surveyor general office in downtown hre. enjoy!

Hi James. Thanks. I have driven via Centenary/Hippo Pools in the past, but with the fuel situation and really the need to travel 'new' roads, this seems like an excellent alternative. Glad to hear the topo maps are still available in Harare. I usually get those and the AA map.
