True, FP may not use the same guides, but why chance it? She said FP used Pollman Tours in Kenya and her comment about her Kenya guide was "Totally lacking in enthusiasm, unfriendly to us,uninformative etc etc." Her Tanzanian guide was a bit better, but only "Okay". I don't know who the outfitter was there. Of course, that can happen with any outfitter, I suppose... getting a guide that's subpar. My Kibo guides have been uniformly excellent, though.

OAT and Mara extension looks better than Smart and Tanz extension.
--OAT has Mara & Serengeti
--OAT has 3 nts in Mara on their 4 night extension trip and Smart offers only 2 nts in Mara.
--OAT has 2 nts Tarangire and Smart has 1

Hi I am signed in as 1ladyrep but when we went to South Africa I used the name Spiegelcjs. You were all so helpful and we actually met some of you at the LA get together. That trip was amazing and we used Eyes on Africa. We r now looking to plan Kenya and Tanzina for 2014. Suggestions for the following please
1. Best time of year for weather, viewing and migration
2. There is never enough time but what is a good amount?
3. Suggestions for companies for independent tour
Thanks as always
