Fly/Drive/EATSafari

Looking at the Micato (and similar) brochure, it seems like when you are not in a vehicle, they are feeding you. I adore elephants but would rather not look like one. Comments?

Do they force feed you like they do hogs?

Also, you should check out the Naked Wilderness travel agency for safaris. Probably more towards you personality.

Tom, you make me laugh with your posts!

Really and truly I never once felt stuffed or that all I was doing was eating, sitting, sleeping. Which is all that we did, but.....

There is something about the outdoors (just ask anyone who has volunteered as a Scout Leader) that makes you hungry, but not overly so!

I don't know - it always seemed we were on the go, maybe not a strenuous 'on the go' like a European cruise, but I didn't feel lazy, rested, sedentary, etc. like a Hawaii Vacation. It was somewhere in between that, and I think the body regulates to tell you how much to eat on each type of vacation. Or at least that's what I believe and I'm sticking to it!!!!

Even at the Carnivore I didn't feel stuffed. I don't know, maybe it's watching all those lions scarf down a wildebeest that makes the appetite a little smaller....

I have found it a challenge on every safari not to overeat. This is not just a Micato "problem." On the more active ones where walking plays a big role, at least I burn some calories. But even then it is not brisk walking because too fast of a pace and you resemble the fleeing prey.

I once went with some other women who actually brought tight clothes thinking by the end of the safari they would fit comfortably. They were wrong.
