Okay .. so we are really leaving tomorrow for our first African Safari!! Tanzania! Here we come!

Wanted to thank all the people on this board who helped me plan out this trip. Your advice was invaluable! When I was planning this trip way back in January ..I was so excited ..I was dreaming of Africa every nite ..didn't know how I would spend the time till May .. and here it is ..and I hvnt even packed yet!!!!! But Lynda's packing list was a life saver ...used that as a template ..and have more or else everything rounded up ..just need to pack it all in now!!

We are going on a walking safari, 50 kms in 3 days and a climb up Ol doinyo Lengai ..going to keep a travel journal and will be sure to post a trip report w/ pictures on return.

Thanks ..and for all the other folks setting out on their own African safaris ..have fun!!!

Woohoo! I remember--more or less--your itinerary. Camping, hiking, walking. I think you're going to Zanzibar too; is that right?

Have a great trip solitaire and thanks for the words on the packing list! I will look forward to reading all about your hike - wow, 50km that sure will be some hike, I will bet you will see lots of interesting things on the hike and the climb. I remember reading one trip report (Alwaysafrica I think?) and I was just fascinated by the descriptions - it sounds incredible.
