Etiquette on private tour
A couple of things I have been thinking about for our upcoming trip. There are two of us traveling and we will have a driver/guide for 5 days from Fes to Marrakech. Do we sit together in back? Does one of us sit up front with the driver? Do drivers generally prefer one or the other? Or just play it by ear? I think we stop at some point to visit a Berber family. Should I bring a little something from home to give them? Thanks for any suggestions.

What the driver prefers is neither here nor there, the choice is yours and you can change this as you go along. Don't get into the situation where the driver (who is not a guide) gets to make decisions for you, such as where you eat, as you will only go to places where he gets a kickback.
The Berber 'tea experience' family will be rewarded by the tour company, any more is up to you.
